Va esperar a certa distància fins que l'home va tornar, s'ajupia per revisar la roda i se'n anava caminant. Aleshores l'investigador se'n va anar satisfet de la seva feina. Per què el podien haver contractat?
Pista: L'investigador tenia una càmera fotogràfica i l'home al que seguia estava sent investigat per frau; l'investigador estava recollint evidències per una companyia asseguradora.

L'escalador va amagar una bota darrera d'una roca i després l'altra una mica més lluny. Va pensar que si algú en trobava una era molt improbable que trobés l'altra, i com que una bota no tindria valor, no se l'emportarien.

El escalador escondió una bota detrás de una roca y después escondió la otra un poco más lejos. Pensó que si alguien encontraba una de las dos botas, era muy improbable que también encontrara la otra, y como que una bota no tendría valor no se la llevarían.

A private investigator followed a man. He waited until the man parked his car and went off. The investigator then let the air out of one of the tires on the man's car. Waiting at a distance, he watched as the man returned, examined the flat tire, and then walked off. The investigator then went home, pleased wit his day's work. What had he been hired to do?
Clue: The private investigator had a camera and the man was under investigation for fraud; the investigator was gathering evidence for an insurance company.
Answer to exercise of previous week (# 125)
He hid one boot behind a rock and then hid the other a short distance farther on. He reasoned that, whereas one boot may be found, it was unlikely that the same person would find both boots, and since one boot would be of little or no value it would not be taken.
